Description:

Theodora Krasia-Christoforou (Dr. Rer. Nat., Max-Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Germany, 2003) holds an Associate Professor position in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Cyprus. Her research interests are focused in the areas of synthesis, characterisation, processing and applications of polymers and polymer-based organic-inorganic hybrid materials. She is interested in the generation of novel, polymers of various architectures and chemical compositions comprising functionalities capable of responding to external stimuli, binding onto inorganic matter, adsorbing and releasing solutes in a controlled manner, etc. She is particularly interested in the preparation of polymer-inorganic nanohybrids and nanocomposites (including magnetoactive materials) in the form of 3D networks, electrospun fibers and thin films.
